A Partnership Between
Families and Teachers
The Preschool at DUMC is nestled within the Doylestown United Methodist Church community at 320 E. Swamp Road — a setting that has anchored families in Bucks County for generations. We offer a September-through-May school year for children ages 2–5, giving families a consistent, faith-rooted environment that feels less like an institution and more like a second home.
We believe parents are a child's first and most important teachers. Our role is to come alongside you — partnering in the next step of your child's educational journey rather than replacing the warmth of home. That partnership shapes everything: from how we communicate daily to how our teachers plan each session around what this particular group of children needs right now.
Every child who comes to us is seen as an individual. We hold a deliberate 8-to-1 student-teacher ratio so that no child fades into the background. Our experienced teachers and skilled assistants use a written, age-appropriate curriculum that touches all four pillars of early development — intellectual, social, physical, and emotional — through seasonal themes, literature, language, science, and math woven naturally into the day.
We understand that a child who feels safe, accepted, and capable will take risks, ask questions, and reach further. That is why we build a classroom culture grounded in kindness, fairness, patience, and intellectual curiosity — modeled every day by a staff whose commitment to this community is measured not in months, but in years.
